Improving Farming Practices in Tanzania: The Story of Ziada Ali

September 4, 2014

Ziada Ali has been farming rice for 10 years in the Kilombero district, where she used to harvest 10 bags of rice from her two acre plot. Since receiving training from USAID, she now harvests 60 bags. Ziada is one of many examples of farmers who are increasing agricultural productivity and learning about good agricultural practices, transforming their livelihoods from running small scale farms to having real impact. This USAID project is part of the greater Feed the Future mission to reduce poverty and hunger in Tanzania through improved health and agricultural practices, especially for women like Ziada.
