An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. That’s certainly the case when it comes to managing the risks of a changing climate where every dollar invested in climate adaptation can generate up to $10 in benefits and save up to $4 of emergency humanitarian assistance down the road. At Feed the Future, we’re putting this adage into practice across everything we do. Across Africa, Asia, and Latin America, we’re helping smallholder farmers and communities on the frontlines of the climate crisis get the critical information, climate-smart technologies, and innovative practices they want and need to thrive both today and tomorrow. And making every dollar count will be even more important as climate impacts are expected to intensify – and possibly push an additional 100 million people into extreme poverty by 2030.
