On July 24 in El Tabor, La Esperanza, Ambassador Lisa Kubiske was joined by the Honduran First Lady, Rosa Elena Lobo, Minister of Agriculture Jacobo Regalado, and World Food Programme (WFP) Director Miguel Barreto in a visit to area projects supported by the U.S. government and the WFP to improve food security.

The delegation visited the farm of Antonio Pérez, who has received technical assistance from the USAID/ACCESO program, sponsored by the U.S. government through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). Through the program, Mr. Perez has improved bean and corn production, and diversified into other crops such as snowpeas. Mr. Pérez has also received assistance in finding new markets where he can sell his products at better prices.
